Hello everyone, particularly the half dozen or so of you who were with the Cavemen when I was in the 1980s. I'm Robert Carter, a former bass singer (occasionally lead, too) with the chorus. Just came across your very nice website after doing a little maintenance on the Barbershop Harmony Society (still SPEBSQSA to me) article at Wikipedia, and I though I would Google "Caveman Chrous" and see what popped up. Good to see you're doing well and in good directorial hands. I'm still in Birmingham, Ala., where I moved 12 years ago to help take care of my grandmother. After a long absence from the media business, I'm back in as a sports reporter for The Birmingham News part time, with the other part involved in computer programming and web design.
Not involved in barbershopping right now. The chapters here are not very active, and my time is limited - we're a morning paper, which means I work at night.
Nice to see a few familiar faces in the photos. Tell those who aren't into the Internet that I said hello. I hope to stop by and sing a tag or two sometime when I'm back home. _________________ Robert Carter
