What is Barbershop Harmony?

It is a style of unaccompanied vocal music characterized by consonant four-part chords for every melody note.  The voice parts are tenor, lead, baritone and bass.  The lead generally sings the melody, the tenor harmonizing above, the bass singing the lowest harmonizing notes and the baritone completing the chord either above or below the lead.

Barbershoppers get their fun in singing for each other and for the public.  The better we sing, the more we enjoy it, so, we enter official Barbershop Harmony Society competitions to keep improving.  We won the Cardinal District Chorus Competition in 1978, 1983, 1990, and 2005.  In 1991 we competed with 68 men at the International Competition in Louisville where we finished 13th out of 17 competing choruses.
